illFX Education's Story

In 2014 illFX Entertainment was hired to create the opening number for the youth event WE Day, so we brought together 40 of the most talented dancers in our community. After the event it was clear we all wanted to continue what we had started, training and creating together. We saw the need for more consistent training opportunities and we felt compelled to nurture the professional dance industry in Calgary. Through the connections and relationships we had cultivated over the years, illFX Education was started in 2016 with just one training group. In the years since our inception, we have had the privilege of mentoring over 600 dancers.

Our mission is to provide high quality street dance training to expand our community and develop well-rounded and diverse dancers. Dancers are exposed to a variety of styles and instructors, making their dance journeys more dynamic and accelerated. In addition, they build skills and relationships that will last them a lifetime. Skills that prepare them for successful careers in the dance industry.

We believe deeply in the self-expression, self-discovery, and growth that dance fosters. We believe in supporting the street dance community both locally and globally, and creating opportunities for dancers to pursue their dreams.
